Radioactive containers found

Winnipeg Health Region
Published Thursday October 12, 2000

At approximately 9:00 a.m. this morning, the steel container containing the two radioactive gas vials was anonymously dropped off at the Health Sciences Centre Emergency Department. Radiation Safety personnel picked up the container and fully examined the package. The package was found to be entirely intact and in the same condition as when it left the HSC yesterday morning. Radiation Safety reports that given the condition of the returned package, there was no opportunity for public exposure from this container.

The Health Sciences Centre and the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority would like to thank the media for conveying this message to the public and to the person or persons who safety returned the package to us.
