Finding Health Services Near You

WRHA Launches Extensive Service Database

Find out what health services are available in Winnipeg, the hours they're open, what languages they provide service in, whether they're on a bus route, which ones are wheelchair accessible, and more. You can even print a map to help you get there.

The Encompass database is a project of the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority, in partnership with CONTACT, a project of the Volunteer Centre of Winnipeg, Inc. and Community Connections, an initiative which provides Internet access to community-based programs and services through partnerships with communities, federal, provincial and municipal governments, the not-for-profit and private sectors.

"With more than 200 health service sites in Winnipeg, most of them providing multiple services, people understandably can experience some difficulty finding what they want, right when they need it," says Dr. Brian Postl CEO. "The intent here is to make that search a little easier."

The listing, created by staff, includes all health services of the WRHA the public can access without a referral from a physician. It doesn't include listings of private clinics or private physician's offices.

Staff in key public points in the health system have been trained to search the database and answer public questions about available services. As well, the listing is also available over the phone by calling Health Links at 788-8200.

Encompass can be found here. The WRHA is sending postcards to every household later this week to promote the new service.
