Winnipeg Regional Health Authority Annual General Meeting

Allan R. Gregg, one of Canada's senior research professionals and Dr. Tom Noseworthy, Chair of the Western Canada Waitlist Project are keynote speakers at the WRHA's Annual General Meeting.

The two will lead an open discussion on the topic of health care and waiting lists.

"We'll be looking at how they work, their impact on health care and how they can be better managed," said Dr. Noseworthy.

Mr. Gregg said they will also examine the attitudes of Canadians towards the health care system as well as their expectations.

Patti Sullivan, Chair of the WRHA Board of Directors says the topic was chosen because of the public interest. "This is an issue that obviously strikes a chord with the public, so it is in our interest and the public's to examine it."

The Annual General Meeting will be held Tuesday, October 7, 2003, from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at the Fairmont Hotel, 2 Lombard Avenue and is open to the public.
