The GO4health EXpo opened today at the Red River Ex, and it’s already a hit with those dropping by to learn more about healthy lifestyles.

Heather Martin learned more about nutritious cooking from the GO4nutrition booth, where she spoke with public health dietitian Ginette LeGal and community nutrition educator Ala'a Eideh about adding more grains and beans to her cooking.

“I love getting this kind of information,” says Martin. “I’m always looking to learn more about health and nutrition. I have a small kitchen and I mostly use the microwave to cook. It’s fast and I can still cook healthy meals in it.”

Taylor Forsyth took on the “minute to measure it” challenge at the booth, where he undertook to measure ingredients such as flour, sugar and salt according to a biscuit recipe. “I won,” he said, as he received an apple for his prize. “I do bake once in a while, and this might inspire me to do it again. I really like the health message here.”
