The warmer overnight temperatures made the experience a little less harsh for the 160 CEOs, community leaders and media who participated in the CEO Sleepout on September 18th.

The Downtown Winnipeg BIZ hosted the event at Portage and Main, which included a series of tours at nearby service agencies and shelters. Along with the chance to talk to people who are homeless, the event offered the opportunity to raise awareness - and money, nearly $200,00 - around the issues homeless people face.

Réal Cloutier, Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for the Region, raised over $3500. It is Cloutier's third time sleeping on the street to raise awareness and money around these important issues. The Region has participated four times - since the event’s inception.
