Medals and fancy hats were the order of the day for a visit by Her Royal Highness Princess Sophie, Countess of Wessex to Deer Lodge Centre.

The countess, in Winnipeg for a short tour with her husband, Prince Edward, visited Deer Lodge Centre as part of its 100th anniversary celebrations.

The countess toured the main floor of the facility, greeting residents and accepting small gifts. A cheer went up when she received a kiss on the hand from one courtly fellow. She also received a commemorative tile done by Winnipeg artist Jordan van Sewell.
