Diagnostic Imaging The Winnipeg Regional Health Authority's Diagnostic Imaging Program is committed to providing a full range of imaging services to meet the needs of patients who are referred to us by their physician. On average, the Program provides over 575,000 imaging procedures to inpatients, emergency patients and outpatients per year. The Diagnostic Imaging Program also supports research and educational programs for medical students, residents and technologists in cooperation with the University of Manitoba, Red River College and the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology. Services provided in Diagnostic Imaging include; general radiography (x-ray), mammography, fluoroscopy, angiography, computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), ultrasound, nuclear medicine and positron emission tomography (PET). These services are available by completing a WRHA Request for Consultation for DI Exam form and either faxing it to our Access Centre (central intake office for all requisitions for the shortest wait time) or directly to one of Winnipeg's acute care hospitals, long term care facilities or specialty clinics.
