A new community COVID-19 testing site will begin operating at 2735 Pembina Hwy., in Winnipeg, on Tuesday, August, 25.

The site will be open to the public on a walk-in basis, and its hours of operation will be 9 am to 4 pm, seven days per week. The site will begin offering testing on August 25.

As a result, the temporary COVID-19 testing site that had been operating in recent weeks at Access Fort Garry (135 Plaza Dr.) will be closing. That site's last day of public testing will be Monday, August 24th, when it will be open 9 am to 4 pm.

Those testing services will shift to the new site at 2735 Pembina Hwy the following day and will offer increased testing capacity within the Winnipeg region.

Clinical parameters for COVID-19 testing at the new site will align with the provincial guidance on testing, and it will therefore operate in the same manner and under the same direction as Winnipeg's other, existing community testing sites.

We would like to extend a tremendous thank you to the staff at Access Fort Garry, and to our community testing site leadership team, for their efforts over the past several weeks in getting the temporary testing site up and running at AFG, as well as their efforts in preparing for the transition to the new Pembina Highway site.

The WRHA will continue to work in partnership with Shared Health and other local community partners to ensure the Winnipeg region's testing capacity continues to accommodate ongoing public demand.
