Text scam alert

The WRHA has recently been made aware that members of the community are receiving text messages claiming to be from the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority “WRHA” and asking recipients to click on an e-transfer link.

Please be advised that this is a scam and these messages are not legitimate. Recipients are advised not to click on any links or provide any personal information in response.

We would also like to remind the community that the WRHA does not solicit personal information or conduct financial business via text message.

Digital Health has reported this scam to the Canadian Cyber Security Centre for further review and investigation. We appreciate those members of the public that brought this to our attention.
