The Rehabilitation Assistants on the Assessment and Rehabilitation units at Deer Lodge Centre (DLC) are an example of how important teamwork is during the COVID-19 outbreaks.

These individuals are dedicated and committed to supporting patient care in any way necessary. Without hesitation, they picked up extra shifts, became resources to educate staff of ongoing changes and adjusted and adapted to the ever-changing daily routines.

They played a key role in ensuring patients received optimal care by delivering trays, helping patients eat, comforting patients and supporting coworkers, disinfecting and restocking supplies, and supporting enhanced symptom monitoring.

Their compassion and support for the emotional and physical wellbeing of the patients during this very difficult time was evident. We are proud of the contribution of these exceptional Healthcare Heroes.
