Manitoba Travel Health Educational Session

The Manitoba Travel Health Network in collaboration with the WRHA Travel Health & Tropical Medicine Services Team, has successfully delivered the Provincial Travel Health “Virtual” Educational Session on Friday, November 3, 2023.

The theme was “Manitoba Travel Health Services Post Pandemic Reboot- Back to the Basics“.

With many health care providers (HCPs) not being able to offer Travel Health Services throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, and with many new providers of TH services within the province, we thought it was an opportune time to ensure that providers are made aware of the most current provincial and national travel health recommendations, resources and guidelines, through a virtual interactive forum of information exchange. Our main goal is to take us all back to the basics of travel health practices, as a starting point, and to then move forward with an expanded scope of learning opportunities in the future.

This educational session is intended for the following provincial HCPs:

  • All those who currently practice in the field of Travel Medicine and Infectious Diseases

OR

  • All those who are interested in pursuing a career in the discipline of Travel Medicine and Infectious Diseases

In particular, those providers working in primary care, public health, occupational health, or private practice:

  • Family Physicians
  • Physician Assistants (PAs)
  • Registered Nurses (RNs)
  • RNs seeking Authorized Prescriber (AP)
  • Nurse Practitioners (NPs)
  • Pharmacists
  • Students from any of the above disciplines, who would be interested in knowing more about travel medicine or practicing in this refined area of expertise in the future

If you were unable to attend this FREE full day educational session, it has been video-taped for viewing at your convenience. You will need to log into your TH Manual account, where you will then be able to access the links to the videos and the presentations from this day.
