Indigenous Health Promotion

The gaps in Indigenous health have been well-described provincially, nationally and internationally. As restated in the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada these gaps are rooted in government policies. In healthcare these gaps are impacted by multilevel racism. Our focus in Indigenous Health in PPH is to close these gaps by honoring Indigenous self-determination, advocating for the equal opportunity for First Nations, Metis and Inuit people to be healthy, and equipping the public health workforce to provide high quality, culturally safe care.
