Home care weather advisory
Winnipeg Regional Health Authority
Monday, April 12, 2021
The Winnipeg Regional Health Authority (WRHA) is advising residents of Winnipeg that community health services - home care services, in particular - may be affected over the next few days, due to the stormy weather.
Weather-related service delays or cancellations are possible for clients, due to the storm and its impact on transportation and access to clients. Every effort will be made to maintain existing schedules. However, some weather-related delays or cancellations may be inevitable.
Clients whose visits will be postponed or cancelled can expect to be contacted by phone and notified of the change. Depending on the nature of the service, some visits could be delayed, rescheduled or cancelled.
Clients wishing to cancel or postpone their own visits may contact their case coordinator or nurse, or the after-hours service line at 204-788-8331.
Home care clients may consider initiating their back-up/storm plans, if possible.
We anticipate that service will resume as per usual once the storm has cleared, and we apologize in advance for any disruption this may cause our clients.
