Services affected by staff shortages

As COVID-19 continues to spread rapidly in our community, we have seen an increase in both hospitalizations and outbreaks at many of our sites, and as part of our response, have redeployed many staff to the areas of greatest need. This, combined with an increase in the number of staff away from work due to illness or isolation requirements, has resulted in a strain on human resources in nearly all areas of the health care system.
Given these issues, we have had to cancel, postpone or reduce a number of services as we manage this wave. We recognize these disruptions have caused stress, and in some cases additional suffering, for our patients, clients, residents and their families. We regret that we had to take this step, and would not have done so if it was not necessary.
We ask that you please continue to treat health care providers and front-line staff with respect during this difficult time - they are not responsible for policy decisions, and are dealing with the challenges of working short-staffed, being redeployed to new areas, as well as managing the risk of contracting COVID-19 or their own illness. Despite these circumstances, they continue to go above and beyond to keep our community safe and healthy, and we are extremely grateful for their efforts.
If something changes with your health while your services are reduced or you are waiting for a new appointment, we recommend contacting your doctor or health care provider for advice. In case of an emergency, call 9-1-1.
