The Winnipeg Regional Health Authority (WRHA), along with the Manitoba government, are inviting community members to weigh in on the design of the new Victoria Hospital emergency department (ED) via an online survey open now until May 10.
"Our goal is to ensure we provide the care people need, when and where they need it, and it's crucial that we hear from the community to help us determine how the new Victoria Hospital Emergency Department can best support that," said Jane Curtis, Interim CEO of the WRHA.
They will also consult front-line staff later this month at Victoria Hospital, and community members in a public town hall on May 6 at 6:30 p.m. at the South Winnipeg Community Centre, to understand their priorities for a new ED in the facility.
"We're taking the next step in our commitment to build a new ED at the Vic, bringing the front lines and community into the planning process," said Uzoma Asagwara, Minister of Health, Seniors and Long-Term Care. "I encourage folks to come out to the town hall, fill out the online survey, and contribute to the future of urgent care in your community."
