Seven Oaks General Hospital’s Social Workers
Some of the members of the Seven Oaks Social Work team.
When most people think about health care workers, Social Workers aren't usually among the first professionals that come to mind.
That's a shame, because, in many cases, Social Workers act as advocates, helping patients and their families navigate the health care system and gain access to a wide range of social services, including Employment and Income Assistance, Home Care, housing, and other community supports.
Working as part of an interdisciplinary team, Social Workers also play an integral role in conducting client and family assessments, and care planning for a patient's return to community.
The entire Seven Oaks General Hospital (SOGH) Social Worker team was nominated as "Health Care Heroes" by a colleague for their outstanding work and dedication.
A social worker herself, Maureen Moisonier was delighted to recognize some of her hardworking colleagues and highlight their efforts over the last number of months.
"Some of our Social Workers have been working at SOGH for more than 30 years, giving us access to an accumulation of over one hundred years' experience," Mosionier says. "They have worked tirelessly throughout the pandemic in Dialysis, Lower Acuity Medicine, Rehab-Geriatrics, Urgent Care, and have provided seamless coverage whenever one member of the team was away. We are blessed to have a wonderful team of dedicated, caring Social Workers from so many backgrounds."
Thank you all!
