Addictions Recovery Services

The WRHA Addictions Recovery Service provides services for individuals aged 18 and older who live in Winnipeg and are interested in addressing their use of substances and/or gambling. Community-Based Treatment

Community-based treatment is available for individuals aged 18 and older who are actively working toward recovery while living independently in the community. The WRHA provides flexible, person-centered services that support individuals in their recovery journey, offering both abstinence-based and harm reduction programming. Options available include individual and group counselling, educational presentations, and referrals to relevant community resources to support ongoing care. In-House Treatment

In-house treatment is a 24/7 live-in service that offers individuals a structured environment to address their use of substances and work towards their recovery goals. . To access, call us at 204-944-6229 or 204-944-6209.

Impaired Driver Program

If police have charged you with impaired driving or you have received two or more-tiered license suspensions within 10 years, Manitoba Public Insurance (MPI) will suspend your driver’s license. Attending Manitoba’s Impaired Driver Program is one of the steps you need to take to regain your license.

Family and Natural Supports

The Family Program offers support and education to individuals, couples and families who have been impacted by a loved one’s substance use and/or gambling. The Family Program provides counseling and a 6-week psycho-educational group to family members. The purpose of these sessions is to understand the dynamics and impact of addiction on the family, and to learn how to establish healthy boundaries, identify enabling behaviours and prioritize their own emotional health. All participants, including the individual with the substance use disorder must be over the age of 18. An intake session with the Family Program is required to access services. Gambling Services

Individual counselling services are available for adults who are concerned about their involvement with gambling.  These services are available Monday to Friday between 8:30 am and 4:30 pm and are free and confidential.  Services are available in person or by telephone.  To schedule an appointment or for more information, please call 204-944-6329. 

Prairie Mountain Health provides a 21 day in-house gambling treatment program. The program takes place at the Parkwood Treatment Centre, a co-ed facility located in Brandon MB, and is available for all Manitobans, regardless of where they live in the province. The program offered at Parkwood includes a variety of activities, as well as individual and group counselling.  This program is available by a referral from a MH & Addictions Counsellor.

The Manitoba Problem Gambling Helpline is available 24 hours.  Helpline counsellors can provide you with problem gambling information as well as referrals to services.  Contact the Manitoba Problem Gambling Helpline at 1-800-463-1554.
