General Requirements for Pharmacy Placements at WRHA facilities
In advance of a placement at a WRHA Pharmacy, students and trainees are required to:
- Be governed by a Clinical Placement Agreement between the WRHA, and the student's school or the trainee's employer
- Meet the region’s vaccination requirements
- Have an in-date N95 Respirator Fit Test
- Obtain a current Criminal Records Search Certificate including Vulnerable Sector Consent, a Child Abuse Registry check and an Adult Abuse Registry Check
- Please complete the Learning Management System courses for Hand Hygiene, PPE and PHIA for Healthcare.
- Obtain and wear a valid identification badge:
- Pharmacy technician students and pharmacy assistant students may wear the badge provided by their technical school
- University of Manitoba Pharmacy students must obtain a WRHA Student ID Badge via the Faculty's SPEP Coordinator
- Other trainees (e.g., Department of National Defense Pharmacy Officers; pharmacy students and pharmacist trainees from other health regions) will be provided with an identification badge on the first day of practicum
