Extended Hours Primary Care Clinics

We know that getting sick or hurt doesn't just happen from 9 to 5. Extended Hours Primary Care Clinics (EHPCC) are designed to provide quick, convenient, and high-quality care for minor health issues outside of standard clinic hours.

EHPCC are ideal for anyone with pressing medical concerns when your family doctor or health care provider are unavailable. EHPCC are also ideal for anyone who may not have a family doctor. They're open in the evenings, on weekends, and even holidays.

The clinics work a lot like your family doctor’s or health care provider’s office. You'll see doctors, nurses or other health care providers who can treat things like:

• Headaches, earaches, back pain
• Rashes or skin ailments
• Sore throat, cough, fever
• Nose bleeds
• Sore eyes with redness or infection
• Diarrhea and vomiting or indigestion
• Urinary tract infections
• Frostbite
• Joint swelling
• Breast feeding issues
• Sexually transmitted infections and testing
• Pap tests
• Ongoing management of chronic conditions such as asthma or diabetes

When are the clinics open?

• Weekdays (M-F): 5:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.
• Weekends (Sat-Sun): 1:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.
• Holidays: 5:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Hours subject to change.

Your family physician is familiar with you and your medical history which is important when providing care. While your family doctor should remain your first point of contact, Extended Hours Primary Care Clinics are an excellent way to supplement that care, giving patients an option if their family doctor is unavailable for a period or if they can't be seen during regular clinic hours.

All care provided by Extended Hours Primary Care Clinics will be shared with your family doctor if any follow-up is required which is ideal for patients managing chronic conditions such as diabetes or asthma.

Walk-In Connected Care Clinics

Walk-In Connected Care Clinics (WICCCs) are available to the general public on a walk-in basis to meet unexpected health care needs during times when it is difficult to see your regular care provider. Walk-In Connected Care is provided by nurse practitioners, physician assistants and registered nurses; they will directly communicate and connect back to your regular care provider if required.

Here are some health issues that could be treated at WICCCs:

• bumps, bruises or sprains
• new rashes, infected cuts or minor sores
• sore throat, earache, colds and flu, cough, hay fever or nose bleeds
• immunizations
• sore eyes with redness or infection
• new stomach pain, diarrhea and vomiting or indigestion
• bladder infections
• new headache, back pain or neck pain
• birth control, breast feeding issues

What do the above numbers mean?

• Waiting = The number of patients who have not yet had an initial assessment.
• Wait Time = The time in hours between being registered and having an initial assessment.

Can I go to a WICCC if I already have a regular health care provider?

Yes, WICCCs are for everyone, although they're not a replacement for regular visits with your health care provider. They are designed to help you access care for unexpected health care needs, when your regular provider may be closed or difficult to access.  Information about your visit to a WICCC can be shared with your regular health care provider to keep your medical records accurate and up-to-date.

Can I go to a WICCC if I don't have a regular health care provider?

Yes, WICCs are for everyone, although they’re not a replacement for a regular health care provider. Pan Am Minor Injury Clinic

The team of Health Care Professionals at the Pan Am Minor Injury Clinic provide expert assessment and treatment for patients with non-life-threatening bone, joint, and soft tissue injuries such as sprains, cuts, bruises and fractures that do not require hospitalization.

These are the types of injuries you might get from a household fall, a slip on the ice, or from getting hurt playing sports.

At the Pan Am Minor Injury Clinic, they can set and cast broken bones; recommend splints, casts, braces, or crutches; clean, dress, or stitch minor wounds and burns; provide tetanus shots; and organize further testing and referrals as needed.

If you require follow-up after your initial visit, Pan Am offers a range of rehabilitation services.

Pan Am is open seven days a week. Patients can use the walk-in service or make an appointment. Patients presenting to Pan Am Minor Injury Clinic are assessed and given a return time based on their medical need. Once daily capacity has been reached, the Minor Injury Clinic accepts only urgent walk-in patients.
