Health Equity
Large gaps exist in Winnipeg between those experiencing the best and poorest health. People living in some areas of Winnipeg have nearly 18 years lower life expectancy than people living in other parts of the city. Many of the gaps arise from unfair, unjust and modifiable social circumstances.
The Winnipeg Regional Health Authority is committed to building partnerships, exchanging ideas and working with community stakeholders to close health gaps.
The Health for All: Building Winnipeg's Health Equity Action Plan (2013) lays the foundation for collective action. It is intended to facilitate collaborative conversations so that we can move together to close health gaps in Winnipeg.
This section of the WRHA website is intended to share links and resources to support health equity promotion in Winnipeg.
