The Critical Care Program provides adult critical care services to the population of the City of Winnipeg and serves as a referral center for the Province of Manitoba. Services include tertiary care, secondary care, and coronary care. Services are provided in three sites with a bed base of 58.

Health Sciences Centre provides tertiary services and is the Provincial Trauma, Burn and Neurosurgical Centre:

  • Medical Intensive Care Unit (16 beds)
  • Surgical Intensive Care Unit (12 beds)
  • Intermediate Intensive Care Unit (6 beds)

St. Boniface Hospital provides tertiary services:

  • Intensive Care Medical Surgical Unit (14 beds)

There is also 1 critical care unit at the following hospital with the capability of invasive monitoring and mechanical ventilation:

  • Grace Hospital (10 beds)
