Diabetes
This series will help you understand what diabetes is and how it affects the body. There is a lot of conflicting information about diabetes, and these classes provide an opportunity to separate fact from fiction with a focus on prevention, management, and support.
Classes are delivered in 75 – 90 minutes. Sessions listed as 2 hours or more in length combine class 1 and 2, and class 3 and 4. Scroll down for details on what you will learn in each class.

What will I learn?
- Class 1 – Diabetes Essentials: Learn what diabetes is, how it affects the body, and how to manage diabetes (including medications). This class provides the foundation for the next 3 classes and is recommended to be taken first.
- Class 2 – Eating for Diabetes: Learn how to eat healthier to prevent or manage diabetes. Discover the truth about sugars and carbohydrates, reading food labels, and planning balanced meals.
- Class 3 – Physical Activity Essentials: Learn how physical activity can help to manage diabetes and improve your overall well-being.
- Class 4 – Preparing for Success: This class offers a practical approach for anyone looking to make a healthy lifestyle change but is unsure where to start. Learn how to take control of your physical and mental health and how to set goals that you can actually achieve.
Get Better Together is also recommended for persons taking Diabetes.
