Label Reading

Nutrition labelling in Canada has been mandatory since 2007. We can use labels to identify if a product will fit our health needs. Labels will identify how much fat, protein, carbohydrates, vitamin and minerals a food will provide to us if we consume the serving size that they list. We can also use labels to compare products to one another.

For information on how to read food labels in Canada please visit Canada's food guide: Using food labels

If you would like further information on how to read labels to best suit your health, talk to your doctor or health care provider about getting a referral to a Registered Dietitian.
