Indigenous Language Interpretation

Interpreter Resource Workers provide Indigenous language interpretation in Cree, Ojibway, and Oji-Cree languages to support with full or partial language barrier patients. Interpreters have training in medical terminology and function as members of the health-care team. Services are available Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 11 p.m.

WRHA Indigenous Health strongly encourages that our health-care providers utilize our Interpreter/Resource Workers for exchanges of information between medical staff and patients. This is to ensure information given is relayed accurately and thoroughly and that a patient's right to confidentiality is respected. Please call our central intake line to make arrangements for an Interpreter/Resource Worker or call the patient's assigned worker.
