Spiritual & Cultural Care

A Spiritual & Cultural Care Provider is available to patients and their families, and all region staff for support and Ceremonies. Many WRHA facilities accommodate smudges and other ceremonies. All faiths are recognized and WRHA Indigenous Health can connect patients and clients with the appropriate resources at each site.

The Traditional Wellness Clinic (TWC)

The TWC gives Indigenous and non-Indigenous people the opportunity to seek healing using a traditional healing approach. The clinic is located at Health Sciences Centre and is open two days per month to anyone and appointments can be made by calling WRHA Indigenous Health's Central Intake.

If you or someone you know is receiving medical care in Winnipeg, access these services by calling toll-free 1-877-940-8880. You can also ask your health-care provider to call WRHA Indigenous Health for you.

Why call WRHA Indigenous Health for patient services? Call if you or your family member:

  • speak an Indigenous language
  • is being discharged
  • want a patient advocate
  • want ceremonies or traditional medicines
  • need additional support
  • are not sure if you need us – we can do an assessment to assist you
