What is an Uncertified Home Care Attendant?
As an important member of the Home Care team, an Uncertified Home Care Attendant (UHCA) helps people maintain their independence and stay at home for as long as possible by assisting with various daily activities.
UHCAs provide hands-on care to clients while maintaining dignity and respect. They help clients with their daily personal care, ensure their safety while moving around the house, and document their medication administration. Additionally, UHCAs offer support with housekeeping, laundry and meal preparation.
Travelling within the community is a large part of a UHCA’s day. Under the direction and supervision of their Resource Coordinator, UHCAs travel between multiple clients' homes daily.
