Regional Patient Experience Surveys

The Winnipeg Health Region has partnered with National Research Corporation Health (NRC Health) to administer an Emergency Department and Patient Experience (Inpatient) survey tool across the hospitals in the region. The validated measurement tools/surveys are being administered to randomly selected patients on monthly basis. The patients that are selected will receive a survey in the mail with the option to complete the survey online. The Emergency Department surveys started January 2013 and the Patient Experience (Inpatient) started April 2013. The goal of the surveys is to promote quality improvement initiatives at all service delivery sites and programs with in the WRHA and provide in indicator for improvement year to year.

The survey tool is one of the three instruments that Accreditation Canada requires to have completed a minimum of once every accreditation cycle to maintain accreditation status.
